I love renting canoes and kayaks from Wacissa Canoe & Kayak Rental. I joke that I could have bought a couple dozen boats myself with all the rentals I've had, but I appreciate the convenience of being able to call and get whatever I need without any hassle. The paddle down the Wacissa river is gorgeous with many turtles, gators, birds, fish, and river otter. There are many beautiful springs along the river including Big Blue, a Magnitude 1 spring, where you'll see many cool things including albino crayfish. I am a SCUBA instructor, and I always recommend to my students, too, to return to rent from them. Corky and his team are great!
The rates were great, especially if you're splitting a 2 or 3 person canoe with friends, and you can rent for a few hours or the full day.

The springs along Wacissa are totally worth seeing, and this rental spot makes it as simple as possible. Since they're right on the river you don't need to bother strapping a rental to your own car - you just park, pay them and start paddling.
Great place to rent from if you want to explore Wacissa. They double and single kayaks. Accept cards.

The river was beautiful! However we ar not from the area never been on the Wacissa. The daughter- in- law of the man that owned the place was not very thorough about explaining land marks and was very vague about the dam in the river. We went beyond the dam and wound up being caught on the river after dark with my kids in tow. Luckily we ran across some hunters that were kind enough to give us a ride back to the rental place, but we were unable to bring the kayaks back. Upon our return we were greeted by the owner, told them exactly were their kayaks were, but told in return we were not leaving until the kayaks were returned, they had my car blocked in. I had to call the sheriff to come out and make them let us leave..needless to say I will never return or suggest them ever to anyone!
